Deep Tissue Massage
Myofascial and neuromuscular therapies are used to release chronic and deep tension.  These muscle knots, also called adhesions or trigger points, may be challenging to release.  Concentrating on deeper muscles and the connective tissue (fascia), this type of massage involves more pressure and targets specific areas of tension, injury, or pain.  These trigger points and adhesions respond to deep tissue massage.  Depending on the client's response, a deep tissue massage may not cover the entire body in one session.  It typically takes a series of sessions, in conjunction with other therapies, to release these adhesions.  This is a firm style of work, may seem slower and more focused, and is also beneficial in injury rehabilitation.
